The material
The basis for the material is plant residues, such as coarse and fine straw and wood shavings from softwoods.shavings from softwoods. In this special substrate mixture, a tree fungusz cultivated. This creates a connection with its mycelium tissue and provides the necessary stability. After drying, the material is solid and no longer changes.
An urn grows in a specially constructed mold over the course of around a month. Created by nature itself and not industrially produced.
The result of this growth is the FUNGUS urn made of pure plant material, which composts in the soil and does not place any burden on nature.
The use of exclusively natural materials, including for the decoration of the urns, creates a special design with a natural charm. The surface of the urns is untreated, formed by the tree fungus. This also results in slight color variations between a hard white and brownish colors.
As we receive our material from nature, we also want to give something back. That is why we support reforestation projects in the Global South through the Grow my tree organization.
