Instructions for use:

• Clean and dry the area around the incision or wound.
• Please note: Moisture and dirt on the tissue may result in an incomplete seal.
• Select the size of ThanoSeal™ tape to cover the incision or wound and the surrounding area.
• Store the plaster in a cool, dark place. Under no circumstances should ThanoSeal™ be stored at higher temperatures for longer periods. If possible, store at temperatures below 25° C, but never above 30° C.
• Avoid exposure to sunlight.
• ThanoSeal™ should not be used on tissue with an outside temperature below approx. 13° C (approx. 55° F).
• If there is hair on the selected skin area, it is advisable to cut it off with scissors or shave it off beforehand.
• Do not apply any creams, lotions, oils or powders to the skin area selected for the ThanoSeal™ , as these products could impair the adhesive strength.
• A cotton-based product is best suited for cleaning the application areas.
• It is recommended that ThanoSeal™ be handled with tweezers to minimize accidental contact of ThanoSeal™ with tissue, gloves or other objects.
• Use tweezers to pull up one corner of the tape to remove it from the release paper. The ThanoSeal™ product has an 80/20 carrier. Remove the 80 % portion, apply to the cut or wound and then remove the remaining 20 % from the backing.
• The adhesive is very aggressive and can affect the hold of the adhesive if it comes into contact with tissue, gloves or other objects.
• As a basic rule, press the ThanoSeal™ tape onto the skin with the flat of your hand for approx. 10 - 30 seconds with firm and even pressure to complete the sealing and achieve maximum adhesion.
• Applying medium heat with a hair dryer to the area where moisture is to be removed before applying ThanoSeal™ will improve the shaping of ThanoSeal™ and make it adhere more easily to difficult areas such as cold tissue and complex curves.
